Since we got our new hiking pack we have been trying to find time to get out and use it. We hiked up donut falls and it was beautiful! 

While we were hiking Matt handed this little flower to Sage and she held on to it the entire hike. It was so darn cute!

Happy 4th of July!!
We started our day by going to breakfast at IHop, because no where else was open. Then we went swimming with Matt's sister Megan and her family! It was fun to get out and do something fun as a family. It doesn't happen very often with Matt working.

This year we felt like Sage is still too young to stay up late for the big firework show...and I'm too much of a control freak and like to keep her on her schedule. Haha!! So we did our own little firework show for her in the front yard. It was fun to see her eyes get so big as she watched them pop.

I had to get Sage her first Slurpee, and you cant go wrong when its Free Slurpee day! She loved it!

We finally got out and did a little fishing as a family! I had little faith in it being a successful outing, but Sage surprised me once again! She did amazing! I brought a blanket and a bunch of snacks, and she just hung out and watched the chipmunks and bugs. Both Matt and I were able to catch some fish so that made it good too!

She is the sweetest!!

YELLOWSTONE!
Matt and I went on a little getaway to one of our favorite places, Yellowstone! We left Sage with my sister Jayne so we could have a little more freedom to do what we wanted. It was really fun getting to spend some one on one time with Matt. We only went for two days. The first day we spent most of our time in the park searching for wildlife! My favorite part of Yellowstone.

That night we did a little fishing. We stayed out till the sun went down. We had lots of bits but not a lot of fish. But it was beautiful being out on the river as the sun set in front of us.

A little update on this cute girl...

But the BIGGEST and BEST trick!! SHE IS NOW WALKING!!!!

This was so random! One day she just stood up and took off! It was crazy! For the first few weeks she would walk with her hands up in the air. It was so funny! I'm so glad I got a picture of it because now she isn't doing it anymore. She is starting to run now. You can tell she is so much happier and way more independent. She thinks she is such a big girl now!

SUMMER!!

So far summer has been perfect! We have literally been outside everyday. One of the fun things we have gotten to do is introduce Sage to summer treats!

Cali introduced Sage to sidewalk chalk. Look how cute these two are! Sage wants to do everything Cali does. She follows her around and just watches her.

 This May my mother had a knee replacement so she has been stuck at the house for awhile. Its fun to watch Sage sit in bed with her Grammy and watch a show or read books. We also had Grammy join us on one of our nightly walks. 

 Sage is a little water baby! She is in this little pool everyday, so I got in with her one of the days. She thought it was pretty funny to see her Mama in the water.

Every once in awhile we get to go to the BIG pool. Sage gets so excited playing in the water with other kids. She giggles and squeals as she watches the older kids.

We don't get to spend a lot of time with Matt so when we get the chance we try and take advantage of the time. We finally were able to make it up in the mountains and walk around Silver Lake.

I was able to go horseback riding with my dad and three sisters for Anne's birthday. It was so fun to be together! Boy was I feeling it after! Ouch!

When Matt has a day off and isn't busy he is good about talking Sage out just the two of them. Of course the Aquarium is a must! Teaching her to love fish.

GUESS WHAT!!!! We have a walker! 

Randomly one day she just took off! She still crawls most of the time but she is getting better. 

I love my little side kick! 

May 2017

MAY

The weather is starting to get warmer so we have been spending most of our days outside. We usually go on a nightly walk but we got this fun bike trailer from my sister Jayne and Sage loves it! She giggles as we go over bumps and when she sees Matt fly past us on his long board. 

On Mother's Day my sister Anne and I drove to California for a little Disney get away. Since Matt was gone for the past 4 months he felt like I deserved a break. The whole trip was perfect! We sang Disney songs the whole way. We spent two days in Disney, and went whale watching and got a pedicure on our off day in between the two Disney days. We stayed super close to Disney so we were able to walk to and from each day. Boy were we sore by the end of the day. We played hard!

I will have to say, I was so excited to get home to my baby girl. It was a lot harder to leave her then I thought it was going to be, even thou Matt did amazing on his own! It was so good for them to spend some one on one time together. It was also good for Matt to get to experience what I do everyday. At the end of my 5 day trip he did say "I like you being the Mom!"

Sage's hair is finally long enough to do PIG TAILS! They make her look so grown up. It's so crazy how fast time goes and how quickly she seems to grow. I can't get enough of her!!

Matt and I recently got a new hiking pack for Sage. Over Memorial Day weekend Matt went on a small fishing trip with a friend so I thought I would give this new pack a try. I was super nervous because I would not say I am in the best shape. I'm pretty weak! So we started on a small hike. I was so tired and sore but I did it! Matt will be carrying Sage most of the time but it feels good to know that I can do it! Just working on those Mommy Muscles!

Isn't she the cutest sleepy hiker you ever did see! She did so good! Pointing at all the dogs we passed and saying Hi to all the people.

We loved getting to celebrate Sage on her birthday! We went to her favorite place, the zoo, and then had all her favorite people over for some cake and ice cream! 

I don't think I even need to say this by looking at the photos above, but Sage LOVED her cake!

I wanted to get some cute photos of Sage for her 1st Birthday. The three of us went to temple square one afternoon and Matt got the cutest photos of our baby girl. They made me cry as I went through them. Haha!! Proud Mommy tears.

11 Months

This girl is almost a year old! WHAT!! How did that happen? Her personality keeps growing! She really has been our dream baby! Sleeps great, Eats almost anything, Teething champ, and even though she can be very sassy she is such a happy, silly girl! We really couldn't love her more.

Sage loves going to the zoo. She is such a little animal lover! I LOVE IT!! She gets so excited seeing all the animals. She points at everything! The other fun thing I have noticed is she is so good at following my finger. When I point something out to her she follows where my finger is pointing and knows what I'm showing her. It's so fun to watch!

Speaking of loving animals...Sage's favorite is Dogs! She loves them all, but Cooper has a special spot in her heart! Whenever we go over to Nana & Papa's house its fun to watch Cooper come and lay next to Sage. He defiantly feels loved by her! 

The week Matt came home we tried to cram in all the fun activities! Unfortunately the weather was horrible that week so the aquarium was a must! 

Swimming was another fun thing we did while Matt was in town. That suit! Come on! She kills me! She loved swimming. We took her down the slide this time and she loved it. 

Matt also was able to be home for my birthday! It was fun getting to spend the day together. It feels weird to say that I'm 25. It doesn't feel that long ago that I was in high school, and now look at me! Married for almost 6 years and have an almost 1 year old. CRAZY!

I love getting to watch Sage and Matt's relationship grow. She loves her Daddy! I know she has fun with me and loves me so much, but when Matt's around he somehow brings out this super silly side to her. I love it! Everything is way more fun with Dad is around. We are so lucky to have him!

Sage and cousin Serena finally got to play! Melissa and the kids were in town for a week. It was so great getting to spend time with her and the kids. They have all grown up so much. It was also so much fun watching these two girls get to play, fight, steal toys, and figure each other out. 

I can't imagine life with out this perfect little stinker in it! She makes me so dang happy! For quite some time I felt like there was a piece of me missing, and she was that missing piece! The moment she made me a Mama I knew I was complete!
