8 Months

This big blue eyed beautiful girl is 8 MONTHS OLD!!

She has been chewing on everything trying to cut a few teeth. She now has 6 teeth!
2 bottom and 4 top. She has done really well with teething so far. While she was working on cutting her top teeth she got used to playing with her tongue a lot, and soon figured out how to click her tongue.

Sage has been clapping so much this past month. I love looking on the monitor and seeing her clapping in her crib. She also has started waving bye bye a little. Another silly thing we have noticed is whenever music starts playing or when Matt does his goofy beat boxing, Sage will wave her arms up and down almost like she is dancing! It's so cute!

CHRISTMAS

We celebrated our first Christmas with Sage! She only got a few things but she was most excited for her yogurt treats. They were gone in less then a week. Haha!

The day after Christmas Me, Anne, and Sage went to the puppy barn to play with all the puppies because Matt neglected to get me one for Christmas. Sage loves dogs so much but she was a little unsure about the overly excited puppies. One puppy started barking at Sage and she thought it was so silly she couldn't stop giggling.

Sage got this cool infant sled for Christmas and luckily it snowed a ton Christmas Eve night so naturally we had to go and try it out. She loved it! I was tired though, Haha, as I was running through the snow pulling the sled I realized that I am really out of shape.

I love spying on Sage when she is in her crib. She is always clapping, talking to herself, rolling around with her bunny, or doing her silly donkey kicks. But just the other day I walked in and she had her blanket over her head as she was kicking her little excited legs, giggling to herself. After I quickly snapped a photo I yanked the blanket off her head and she just tossed her head back laughing. I am so happy that she enjoys playing in her crib.

On New Years Eve day we got to go up to Mike and Em's house to go sledding. I was a little worried to see how Sage would do riding the snowmobile up to the house. She did great! She actually fell asleep as we drove up and down. Emily was nice enough to stay at the house with Sage so that Matt and I could enjoy sledding to the fullest.

Having Matt home during the holiday break has been so fun! I have loved watching Sage's love for her Daddy grow so much in these short weeks.

Sadly Matt will be leaving us for 4 months while he moves down to Bluff, Utah to build a house for school. He will get to come home for a week here and a week there, but most of the time he will be living down south. I have been trying to saver every moment I have with Matt before he leaves, and I have been filming Matt and Sage play non stop so that I can show her all the videos while he is gone.

For weeks I have been saying how cool would it be if Sage said "Dada" before Matt left, and we all didn't think it would happen. But I worked with her over and over again. Showing her videos of Matt and saying "Dada" while we watch them. When Matt walked in the room and Sage looked up at him I would repeat "Dada". While they played on the bed I again would repeat "Dada". She started saying it but we figured she didn't really know what she was saying but I didn't give up. Finally one night before Matt left I said to Sage "Where's Dada?" and she looked up at Matt with a big smile on her face and said "Dada". I cheered so loud and then quickly fell into tears. So proud but at the same time so sad that he was leaving. I will continue to work with her as we facetime, watch videos, and look at photos of Matt.

I know this time apart will be hard on all three of us in very different ways, but I hope it will allow us to grow closer through the challenge. I know it wont be easy but we will get through it.

I love my little family!
